Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team maintaining and repairing military vehicles and related equipment. The successful candidate will perform inspections, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a diverse fleet of tactical and support vehicles while ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, service, and repair military and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer and military maintenance schedules.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
  • Repair engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspension, steering, braking, and fuel systems.
  • Use diagnostic software, testing equipment, and service manuals to identify and correct faults.
  • Complete work orders, maintenance records, and inspection reports accurately.
  • Ensure all repairs comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support field maintenance operations when required.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet operational readiness goals.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience repairing heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment, military vehicles, or similar equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and powertrain components.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Experience using computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • Valid driver's license (Class 3 or equivalent is an asset).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance, if applicable.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset.
